What is Counter Surveillance?
Counter Surveillance or Technical Counter Surveillance Measures
(TCSM) refers to the discovery, detection and
neutralization of Electronic Surveillance Equipment more commonly
referred to as "bugs" within residential and commercial premises,
vehicles, such as cars, boats and planes, or that have been
concealed within other electrical or electronic equipment such as
telephones, computers or air conditioning systems.
How is Counter Surveillance conducted?
The actual process of conducting a counter surveillance sweep or bug
sweep is a skilled and complex process which requires highly
specialist knowledge, equipment and experience.
Various techniques and items of equipment are utilised according to
the location or item under scrutiny and it is therefore paramount
that the person or persons conducting the sweep are suitably qualified and
experienced in order to successfully interpret results provided by
the equipment and to understand how audio, video and GSM bugs operate.
